New Orsellinic Acid Esters from Fungus Chaetomium globosporum

Abstract: Seven new orsellinic acid esters, 1 -7, and four known compounds were isolated from the solid, fermented rice culture of Chaetomium globosporum (cib-132). Their structures were elucidated by 1D-and 2D-NMR spectra, and the relative configuration of compound 1 was determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis.

“…The substructure from C-1′ to C-8′ could be postulated on the basis of HMBC correlations from H-2′ to C-1′ and C-3′, from H-3′ to C-1′, C-2′, C-4′, and C-5′, from H-5′ to C-3′, C-4′, C-6′, C-7′, and C-8′, from H-7′ to C-5′ and C-6′, and from H-8′ to C-3′ and C-4′.
