“…The early and middle Serravallian palynomorph assemblages of Anatolia were determined from Aydın-Şahinali, İncirliova, Hasköy, Söke and Köşk areas in the Büyük Menderes Graben (Akgün & Akyol, 1999), Muğla-Yatağan (Atalay, 1980;Erdei, Yavuz, Akgün, & Hably, 2002;Sickenberg, 1975), Akhisar-Çıtak (Akgün & Akyol, 1987;Akgün et al, 2007;Göktaş & Ünay, 2000;Yağmurlu, 1984), İzmir-Kocaçay and İzmir-Cumaovası basins from western Anatolia (Kayseri-Özer, Sözbilir, & Akgün, 2014), Çorum (Kaymakçı, Özçelik, White, & Van Dijk, 2001;Şen et al, 1998;Sümengen et al, 1990), Kırşehir-Avcıköy and Hacıbektaş Tekkaya, 1974), Konya-Ilgın Karayiğit et al, 1999), Yozgat-Çiçekdağ ) from central Anatolia. According to these studies, the palaeoclimate was warm during the Serravallian-middle Tortonian interval.…”
