New characterizing method of a 3D parametric lattice structure

Abstract: Engineering designers often adapt their design structure to the needs of functional requirements independently of the capacity of the designed technical system to offer innovative capacities. Based on the notion of contradiction brought from TRIZ theory (Russian acronym for theory of inventive problem solving), we have developed an approach to reversely build a parametric intelligent structure potentially solving a wide range of inventive problematic situations. The proposed structure relies on an elastic buck… Show more

“…After analyzing several studies on the desired performance for lattice structure [25][26][27], we propose an energy absorber as a case study that can serve several applications in the mechanical domain. It focuses on the design of an energy absorber whose main component is a lattice structure.…”

“…This application helps us to evaluate its applicability. Due to the wide use of LS in energy-absorbing applications, the energy absorption of this kind of structure has always been an interesting research topic for materials scientists and engineers (Li et al , 2019; Edouard et al , 2021). Energy-absorbing structures are the components that convert kinetic energy into other types of energy, such as plastic strain through large deformations of the material (Fazilati and Alisadeghi, 2016).…”

“…Optimization by the design expe-riment method was made to have the most optimized design parameters in terms of mass; this method has been used in several works, including the work of Edo-uard, R et al [33], who used this method to study the influence of geometrical parameters on mechanical res-ponses. In addition, the results obtained concerning the performance parameters (P i ) were compared with the performance parameters of a reference solution (P * i ) in order to assess the objective accuracy of the behavior model used Table 3.…”
