“…We herein found that a high dose of LQ significantly decreased the expression of IL-1b and IL-17, suggesting the anti-inflammatory effect of LQ on astrocytes. Consistent with our results, LQ decreased the spinal IL-6, IL-1b, and TNF-a protein expression in chronic constriction injury induced neuropathic pain (Zhang M. T. et al, 2017).…”

“…LQ is one of the major constituents of Glycyrrhiza radix that exerts antiinflammatory effect (Li et al, 2018), pro-apoptotic effect (Wei et al, 2017), neurotrophic effect (Chen et al, 2009), and anti-RA (Zhai et al, 2019). In addition, intragastric administration of LQ reduced hyperalgesia in a dose-dependent manner and inhibited the activation of glia (astrocyte and microglia) on CCI induced neuropathic pain (Zhang M. T. et al, 2017). In our present study, repeated intrathecal administration of LQ for seven consecutive days after injecting walker 256 cell reversed the established mechanical allodynia in rats, suggesting that LQ induced antinociception in BCP model and providing a direct evidence for the effect of LQ on the spinal cord.…”

“…The SFI was assessed to evaluate the progress in the autonomy of animals as described by Zhang et al [16]. In brief, animals were subjected to walking-track analysis and SFI was estimated from the printed foot image using the formula derived by Bain et al [17].…”

“…Estrogen deficiency causes an increase in nociceptive sensitivity (14). A high bone turnover, such as with postmenopausal osteoporosis, might augment skeletal pain via activation have demonstrated that pregabalin (10 ~ 40 mg/kg) improves the mechanical allodynia in the von Frey filament test caused by CCI (8,35). The difference between ours and previous reports could be because the weekly dose of pregabalin (10 mg/kg) in the present study may not have been enough to improve mechanical allodynia in our ovariectomized and CCI model.…”
