Neuroleadership as an Asset in Educational Settings: An Overview

Abstract: Objectives: The goal of this research is to investigate the scientific basis for integrating neuroscience in general, and cognitive neuroscience in particular, into the field of educational leadership. In recent decades, the scientific community has shown a great interest in integrating neuroscience into higher education and the many levels of leadership education and decision-making that are crucial to a range of educational difficulties that leadership leaders are called upon to handle. “…Particularly, learning, which helps individuals develop, develop improved ways of thinking, acquire knowledge, and acquire new abilities and skills, can be more effective when the individual understands emotions and their effects on the learning process. The present study focuses on emotional neuroscience and its relationship to learning, presenting key findings and conclusions derived from a review of recent literature (Antonopoulou et al, 2022;Antonopoulou et al, 2021;Giannoulis et al, 2022;Gkintoni et al, 2022a;2022b;Gkintoni et al, 2021). In particular, the connection between neuroscience and education will be studied.…”

“…In contrast, neuroscience has offered a challenge to organizational management and given organizational and leadership performance a new meaning (Halkiopoulos et al, 2020). Neuroscientific data may be important in defining educational leadership in terms of cognition, particularly in terms of academic leaders' decisionmaking, problem-solving, emotional control, and personal traits (Gkintoni et al, 2022a).…”

“…Each artistic discipline engages distinct sensory systems. According to the findings of studies (Gkintoni et al, 2017;Gkintoni et al, 2022a) a comprehensive analysis of the various brain regions involved in each art form is provided. For instance, Daniel Levitin, a psychologist and neuroscientist, has discovered that a region of the cerebellum is involved in some of the emotional aspects of music, as listening, composition, and movement all involve cerebellar regions (Hardiman et al, 2009).…”
