Neue Cu‐Te‐Cluster

“…In 3, the Nb atoms have the formal charge v, and the NbÀNb distance is very large (377.5(2) pm). This was also observed in other tellurium-bridged compounds such as [Cu 23 Te 13 (PiPr 3 ) 19 ] [13] (253 and 284 pm). However, most of them are complexes of Nb III featuring a metal ± metal bond between the Nb centers.…”

“…The Cu, Te, and P atoms are labeled only with blue, red, and green numbers, respectively. Important distances in pm (20.5pm): 6: 6,7,9,10,[12][13][14][15][16]18,27,5,8,15,8,12,17,18,22,9,11,13,16,19,24,25) define a distorted, Frank-Kasper polyhedron with a central Te 1 with 28 triangular faces, which are occupied by twelve Cu atoms Cu6,Cu7,Cu9,CulO, coordinated to PPhEt, and 16 peripheral Te ligands, which also describe a Frank-Kasper polyhedron, which is strongly distorted because of the Te-Te bonds (Te-Te 287.9(3)-469.8(7) pm). The Cu-Cu distances vary greatly and are between 238 (2) and 31 1.5 pm.…”

“…A wide variety of nanometer-sized particles has been prepared up to the gram scale via colloid chemistry, either homogeneously dispersed in solution or embedded in solid matrices and glasses, in micelles, vesicles, and Langmuir-Blodgett films. Synthetic inorganic cluster chemistry has made remarkable progress in preparing relatively "large" and well-defined metal and semiconductor clusters such as [Au,,(PP~,),,,]~+ [l], Cu,,Se,,(PEt,),, [2], and Cd&4(SC6H& DMF, [3]. Gas-phase cluster physics succeeded in the preparation of large clusters of various materials in supersonic beams, and sophisticated techniques allow detailed investigations of their electronic and structural properties; the isolation of c 6 , from carbon vapor even started the new branch of fullerene chemistry.…”
