Necrotizing Primary Carcinoma of the Right Adrenal Causing Fever “Of Unknown Origin” in a 71‐year‐old Male: Clinico‐pathologic Study

Abstract: The case of a 71.year-old male veteran who had remittent fever (IOI-103°F) for six weeks is described in detail. The underlylng cause for this perpfexing symptom remained undiscovered until his death, despite exhaustive investigations. Autopsy revealed a necrotizing primary adenocarcinoma of the ri~ht adrenal gland, with metastasis to the right cerebellar hemisphere. Only one other similar case has been described before in the literature.
