Natural Mathematical Derivation of the Gibbs–Duhem Equation Related to ΔG and ∂G/∂ξ

Abstract: A long-standing scientific problem about G and ∂G/∂ξ, involving the Gibbs-Duhem equation, demonstrates that wrong concepts are sometimes dominant in the literature even though corrections are readily available. This fact shows that the Gibbs-Duhem equation and especially its applications are among the most difficult topics in thermodynamics. Moreover, it demonstrates that there are often weak points in existing methods which necessitate new perspectives. There exist several different derivations of the Gibbs-… Show more

“…Such analyses can be applied to all published data and by using our new theory based on wave superposition, it can be easily seen such data were inconsistent with the previously accepted theories. In history, wrong theories were always "supported" by experiments until the theories were proved wrong [22,23]. Although only a few sets of data from various compounds have been used to support our conclusions [6,7,13,21,24], their variety and the principles used for the analyses suggest that all experimental data published previously in the literature will support our conclusions.…”
