“…Previous canine CM reports showed good to excellent response to H1 and H2 blockers and resolution of lesions; in one dog lesions persisted but antihistamine controlled pruritus and recurrent flares . In humans, rapid resolution of maculopapular CM skin lesions is seen with topical glucocorticoids . Although systemic glucocorticoids are routinely integrated into the treatment of MCTs in dogs, data on their use in canine CM is scarce.…”

“…Symptoms such as urticaria, angioedema, flush, abdominal pain, diarrhea, hypotension, syncope, and musculoskeletal pain are caused by the release of MC mediators. 54,57 Binding of monomeric immunoglobulin (Ig) E to the FcεRI receptor induce survival of MCs in absence of antigens. 58,59 Furthermore, this receptor plays an important role in the protection of the organism against parasitic infections.…”

“…The main rationale for presentation of our patient is rare onset of adult-type mastocytosis in childhood and a relatively small The recent review and meta-analysis reported by Le et al indicate an even smaller percentage of remission of pediatric mastocytosis. 11 The complete resolution was found only in mastocytoma and maculopapular CM with complete resolution rate 10% and 1.9% per year, respectively. Up to this day, the relationship between the presence of D816V KIT mutation and persistence of CM until adult age remains unclear.…”
