Nation-Delegation-Constitution: Reconsidering role of religion in Polish identity development

Abstract: Democratic politics creates a specific ‘chain of representation’. According to Article 104 of the Polish Constitution, the MPs are the representatives of the entire Nation. “…This finding could be of use to parents, international school staff, and even counsellors of TCKs, as it suggests that TCKs who are religious should be enabled, where possible, to practise their religion whilst in the host country, in order to help improve their ethnic identity development. A relationship between religion and identity development has been highlighted by Bień et al (2019), while noting religion’s association with low mental health help-seeking (Lloyd et al, 2021) as ‘religion’ is a broad term. Future research is needed to further evaluate religion and ethnic identity strength.…”
