Nanoporous chromium thin film for active detection of toxic heavy metals traces using surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy

Abstract: In this work, nanoporous Cr thin film was designed by a novel method for the detection of toxic heavy metals based on surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy. Nanoporous Cr thin film has been deposited on an aluminum substrate through a developed etching/DC electrodeposition technique of the hexagonal porous anodic alumina (PAA) template/Cr nanoparticles, respectively. The structures and morphologies of the fabricated samples were investigated by different characterization tools. The FE-SEM illustrates nanoporous … Show more

“…In recent years, the growth of publications reporting the use of NAA as a photonic structure can be observed. The value of its unique geometry has been demonstrated in many fields, for example as sensing platforms [ 202 , 203 ] providing a promising alternative over plasmonic nanoparticles. The idea to utilize NAA as a shadow mask to fabricate a surface covered with plasmonic dimers was presented by Schmidt et al [ 204 ].…”

“…This means that absorbance increases in the visible region after the deposition of TiO 2 /TiN on the template. All the spectra exhibit PAOTterns oscillations of interference fringes 30 . There are very small interference fringes oscillations with the PAOT reflectance due to interference between the reflected light from the bottom (PAOT/Al) and top (PAOT/air) interfaces.…”

“…From this figure, there are three sharp peaks for the Al 2 O 3 template are located at 44.5, 65, and 78.1° for the growth directions (113), (214), and (119), respectively (JCPDS card # 01-089-4921). The sharp-peaks indicate the Al 2 O 3 template is crystalline and easy to fabricated using the Ni-imprinting technique 30 .

“…Also, the majority of these studies do not demonstrate long-term H 2 production stability. Furthermore, the morphology of the microsized materials is uncontrolled [ 30 , 31 , 32 ]. In this study, a TiN/TiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 template photoelectrode was created and used to generate H 2 from sewage water splitting without the use of any sacrificing agents.…”
