Nanoantenna-assisted plasmonic enhancement of IR absorption of vibrational modes of organic molecules

Abstract: Nanoantenna-assisted plasmonic enhancement of IR absorption and Raman scattering was employed for studying the vibrational modes in organic molecules. Ultrathin cobalt phthalocyanine films (3 nm) were deposited on Au nanoantenna arrays with specified structural parameters. The deposited organic films reveal the enhancement of both Raman scattering and IR absorption vibrational modes. To extend the possibility of implementing surface-enhanced infrared absorption (SEIRA) for biological applications, the detectio… Show more

“…The considered NA sensors have linear geometry and are designed for the resonant frequencies of 1.337 and 1.695 THz corresponding to L-2HG and D-2HG isomers, respectively. Complete work with a description of the experimental implementation for these sensors using E-beam lithography [11,18,19] and their further characterization with a manufactured-in-house THz-TDS system [17] will be published elsewhere.…”

“…The SEIRA enhancement induced by the nanoantennas was estimated to be as high as 1 × 10 6 . In our earlier papers we demonstrated SEIRA in the mid- and far-infrared for both organic molecules and inorganic NCs deposited on Au linear nanoantenna arrays fabricated on Si substrates by nanolithography [ 22 23 ]. The influence of a thin SiO 2 layer (0–100 nm) beneath the nanoantenna arrays on the LSPR energy, as well as the LSP penetration depth into SiO 2 were established [ 12 ].…”

“…One of the most promising directions has been surface-based nanoplasmonic sensors, and the potential of such technologies is still emerging. [19][20][21] To date, there have been no reports about GONR catalytic gold nanoplasmon RRS/absorption (Abs) analytical platform for human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), based on peptide reaction-modulating nanoenzyme activity, without preparation of nanoprobes and nanoparticle aggregation.…”
