Nano-TiO2/Chitosan Coated Antibacterial Paper and Its Preservation Effect in Packaging Nanguo Pear

Abstract: Abstract. After nanguo pear respectively were dealt with water to wash, base paper packaging and nano-TiO 2 /chitosan coated antibacterial paper packaging, and stored for some time, its sensory index and physiological index were measured and made comparative analysis. The determination results based on sensory index indicated that: nanguo pear packaged in coated antibacterial paper are small weight loss rate, moderate moisture, and can reduce the yellow index of fruit and prevent fruit rot. The determination r… Show more

“…An interesting study dealing with investigation of antibacterial and preservation efficiency of packaging paper coated with TiO 2 / chitosan on nanguo pears [85]. Measuring of the sensory of the nanguo pears showed that the weight loss of the fruits packed in antibacterial paper is less than those packed in normal paper.…”

“…An appropriate number of TiO 2 nanoparticles can improve the mechanical properties and water barrier properties of biopolymer films (He, Zhang, Cai, & Wang, ). Furthermore, TiO 2 has long‐lasting broad‐spectrum bacteriostasis properties, which can effectively increase the shelf life of fruits and meat products (Alizadeh Sani, Ehsani, & Hashemi, ; Jiang, Huang, Yu, Sun, & Cui, ). However, TiO 2 nanoparticles easily aggregate into micron‐sized particles (Liu, Han, & Ke, ), thus exhibiting poor compatibility with many materials and even causing phase separation.…”
