Nano-sized mesoporous phosphated tin oxide as an efficient solid acid catalyst

Abstract: Herein, we prepared a mesoporous tin oxide catalyst (mSnO2) activated with phosphate species by the adsorption of phosphate ions from a phosphoric acid solution onto tin oxyhydroxide (Sn(OH)4) surface.

“…Fig.3displays the nitrogen adsorption isotherms of mixed CoMn-MOFs samples, along with that of pure Co-MOF-74 and Mn-MOF-74 samples. The adsorption and desorption curves display a typical type-II isotherms according to IUPAC48,51,52 classication with a H3 type hysteresis loop, which is characteristic of the presence of a large proportion of meso and macro porous materials. The specic BET surface areas (S BET ) of the assynthesized MOFs were shown in Table1.…”

“…Moreover, the pore size distribution of the extracted materials presents two components while the SAXS pattern show only one mesopore network, we can thus assume that another part of phosphorous is present in the material as PO4 3located inside the mesopores and that they partially block them. The formation of TiP2O7 after heating at 900°C also suggests that, as reported by Hassan et al for phosphate tin oxide [67], some phosphate groups are adsorbed at the surface of TiO2 forming amorphous Ti(HPO4)2. After calcination the dehydroxylation of Ti(HPO4)2 lead to TiP2O7.…”

“…The reduction in catalytic activity might be claried on the basis of the fact that the increases in the ethyl acetoacetate content hinder the reaction by blocking the active sites on the catalyst surface. 51,53,54 3.6.2.2 Effect of reaction time, reaction temperature and catalyst weight. Effect of the reaction time and temperature on the yield percentage of 3,4-dihydropyrimidinone were studied at 100 C and a molar ratio 1 : 1.5 : 1 (benzaldehyde : urea : ethyl acetoacetate) using 0.05 g of 75% PMA/Cr-Mg-MOF.…”
