The role of PMA in enhancing the surface acidity and catalytic activity of a bimetallic Cr–Mg-MOF and its applications for synthesis of coumarin and dihydropyrimidinone derivatives

Abstract: PMA supported on Cr–Mg-MOF has been successfully synthesized. All catalysts exhibits distinct catalytic activity in the synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidinones and 7-hydroxy-4-methyl coumarin and showed excellent % yield and recycling efficiency.

“…The typical absorption peak appeared at about 1360 cm −1 is related to (C–O) stretching vibration which may be related to the presence of dihydroxyterphthalic acid in MOF. 53 Also, absorption peaks appeared at 1015 and 745 cm −1 attributed to γ (C–H), δ (C–H) vibration of aromatic rings. 54 Also, comparing with organic linker, the absorption band that appears at 1633 cm −1 that related to stretching vibration of (C O) group 55 was disappeared or shifted to lower value at 1547, 1588 and 1577 cm −1 for Mn-MOF-74, Co-MOF-74 and Co 0.5 –Mn 0.5 -MOF-74, respectively after addition of metals or bimetals to the linker, which proves that all carboxylic groups of the dihydroxyterphthalic acid are deprotonated and there is no unreacted dihydroxyterphthalic acid on the surface or pores of the prepared MOF-74 (ref.…”

“…Meanwhile, there is a correlation between the AuSe QDs content and the surface area value, which was observed. It is clear from Figure 6 , the adsorption capacity of x wt.% AuSe QDs/Cs 2 Fe 2 O 4 NCs was decreased with increasing of the AuSe QDs content, which could be related to the deposition of AuSe QDs on both the surface and pores of Cs 2 Fe 2 O 4 NC [ 60 , 61 , 62 ].
