MXene‐Based Functional Platforms for Tumor Therapy

Abstract: Recently, 2D transition metal carbide, nitride, and carbonitrides (MXenes) materials stand out in the field of tumor therapy, particularly in the construction of functional platforms for optimal antitumor therapy due to their high specific surface area, tunable performance, strong absorption of near‐infrared light as well as preferable surface plasmon resonance effect. In this review, we summarize the progress of MXene‐mediated antitumor therapy after appropriate modifications or integration procedures. We dis… Show more

“…ICG and MXene nanosheets are extensively employed as photothermal agents under NIR laser irradiation for antitumor and antibacterial infection therapy. , To further explore the photothermal capabilities of the prepared nanomaterials, a comprehensive assessment of the photothermal properties of MXene/ZIF-90@ICG was conducted in a specific PBS environment (10 mM, pH = 5.5). At first, the thermogenesis curves of various nanomaterials (including MXene-NH 2 , ZIF-90@ICG, and MXene/ZIF-90@ICG) were measured under low pH conditions.…”

“…Also, the raw material (algae) are relatively inexpensive and can be cultivated using sunlight. 95 The quick, easy, low-cost, and high-yielding delamination process creates a novel path for breaking down MAX and creating MXenes with suitable characteristics for various applications. 58 These multiple advantages make this method superior to other approaches used for MXene development.…”

“…More importantly, the functional surface groups on MXene (such as O 2− , OH − , and F − ) could increase the accumulation of copper ions by promoting electrostatic adsorption. [23] Consequently, CuS was generated in situ on the MXene surface to form the Cu/MX bio-HJs. Next, pDA combined with the bio-HJs, which could be ascribed to electrostatic interactions, [24] acted as an anchor for VMP via Michael-addition or Schiff-base reactions.…”
