Multiple facial translucent papules

Abstract

A 55-year-old woman was referred to our department for multiple asymptomatic translucent skin-colored vesiculopapular lesions located on the cheeks and eyelids. The lesions were present since 5 years, worsening in summer and regressing in cold weather ( Fig. 1).Dermoscopic findings revealed a well-demarcated homogenous bluish area surrounded by a pale halo with arborizing vessels (using a nonpolarized Fotofinder dermoscope X20) ( Fig. 2). Histopathological findingsA 4 mm punch skin biopsy was performed. The biopsy revealed a normal epidermis. The dermis showed a solitary cyst lined with a layer of small cuboidal cells. Eccrine Hidrocystoma of the Central Chest and Dermoscopic Findings

Lastly, pale halos surrounding bluish papules have been found under dermoscopy in four reported cases; however, this was not seen in our case [10,11].…”

Their dermoscopic features are rarely described in the literature, with only seven cases currently reported to date [5,[10][11][12]. Correia et al reported the dermoscopic findings of an eccrine hidrocystoma to be cystic, avascular, and well demarcated [5].…”
