Multiple-criteria model for optimal Anti Tank Ground missile weapon system procurement

Abstract: Introduction: Anti Tank Ground Missiles (ATGMs) are one of the most efficient weapon systems to counter armored and mechanized units. Procurement of these weapons is imperative for armed forces of any country. Adequate evaluation and choice of an efficient ATGM system is a very important factor which affects operational capabilities of armed forces. The purpose of this paper is to present that multi criteria methods can be a useful tool for optimal procurement of ATGMs for armed forces. Methods: The implementa… Show more

“…The outcomes of MCDM models often become unstable because of sudden changes in the governing conditions, such as changes in the criteria set, variations in the weights, selection of the alternatives, and addition/removal of elements of the decision matrix [ 62 , 63 , 64 , 65 , 66 , 67 , 68 ]. Therefore, it is important to carry out a sensitivity analysis (SA) to examine the stability of the solution.…”

“…Radovanović et al (2021) [12], using the multi-criteria decision hybrid model AHP-VIKOR, chose the most effective anti-aircraft missile system for the needs of the army. Pamučar and Dimitrijević (2021) [13] selected the most effective anti-tank guided missiles using the TOPSIS -MABAC multi-criteria model. Koruba and Nocon [14] showed the algorithm of the programmed guidance of the flat track anti-tank missile onto a target, both motionless and moving, by means of a system called SACLOS.…”

“…These systems have a significantly lower hit percentage than newer generation systems. During the Arab-Israeli conflict in 1973, the combat efficiency of the first generation system was up to 25%, which represents an extremely poor combat system efficiency [13]. The development of the first generation of anti-armor missile systems began in the early 1950s, and the modernization and development of missiles for systems with the MCLOS guidance system is still ongoing (Malyutka -2 9M14P1B1 missile).…”

“…However, judging by the current number of papers in using AHP, it is still ranked as one of the most used methods for MCDM. Due to its simplicity and offer of feedback on consistency of judgements as well as a facility to carry out a what if (sensitivity analysis) (Pamucar & Savin, 2020;Pamucar & Dimitrijevic, 2021).…”
