Multimedia development based on science technology engineering and mathematics in microbiology learning

The many sources of general biology material on the internet that are difficult to distinguish between authenticity and validity cause students to be confused. Students are confused about which source to use and which one to start with, so this case causes big problems for the learning process and student learning outcomes. The purpose of the study was to determine student responses to the development of general biology materials interactive multimedia based on web and android. The research method is descriptive quantitative through survey techniques with a sample of 100 students from IKIP Budi Utomo, Universitas PGRI Madiun, and Nusantara Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri. The research instrument was an electronic questionnaire consisting of eleven questions and was given to students. The research data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that students had difficulty finding valid and accountable general biology materials on the internet (40.2%), students agree if the lecturer prepares general biology material that meets the valid criteria (94.1%), students agree that general biology material is in the form of interactive multimedia based on web and android for present and future learning (79.4%), and students agree that general biology material interactive multimedia based on web and android can help students understand general biology material anywhere and anytime (70.6%). The conclusion of this study is that students need general biology materials interactive multimedia based on the web and android for present and future learning.

Analysis of Cognitive Assessment Instruments in General Biology Learning Media

The existence of cognitive assessments in learning media that does not require much consideration for their feasibility as a measuring tool is one of the problems that arise because it can cause misinformation obtained by the teacher. The purpose of this study was to determine the construct validity and content of the cognitive assessment instrument and the validity of the questions, the reliability of the questions, the distinguishing power of the questions, and the level of difficulty of the questions on the cognitive assessment instruments to be used in general biology learning media. The research method used is descriptive quantitative through a survey involving one expert and 58 students of the Biology Education study program of IKIP Budi Utomo. The research limitation is a cognitive assessment of microbiology material in general biology courses. The type of instrument analyzed is a test. The results obtained are that the cognitive assessment instrument has a valid level of validity from the aspect of construct and content, the validity of the questions in the valid category, the reliability of the questions is moderate, the discriminatory power of the questions is good, and the level of difficulty of the questions is moderate. The conclusion is that the cognitive assessment instrument is appropriate to be used as an appropriate measuring tool for microbiology material in general biology learning media.

Development of web-based general biology content on the GEN-BIO platform

The development of valid online learning media is currently very necessary in supporting the biology learning process. A high percentage of students had misconceptions about general biology material in biology education (75%), a high percentage of student responded that are difficult to get valid general biology material on the internet (40.2%), and a high percentage of student responded so that lecturers make valid general biology material (94,1%), and the high percentage of student responses so that general biology material can be in the form of a web app (70.6%). The research objective is to produce a web app-based general biology content form on the GEN-BIO platform that meets the valid criteria. The method used in this research is R&D with the Thiagarajan development model consisting of define, design, and develop. While the disseminate will be carried out in the next research using a quasi-experimental method. The research instrument used was a needs analysis sheet in the form of a G-form given to 100 respondents, a Semester Lecture Plan (SLP) analysis sheet, a material expert validation sheet given to one lecturer, a media expert validation sheet given to one expert, a practitioner validation sheet given to give to one lecturer, and the readability test sheet given to 43 students. All instruments used in this study have been declared valid by the evaluator. Research data is a score of validity in the form of quantitative data and complementary information in the form of qualitative data. The data analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative. The results showed that it has been produced general biology content based on the web app on the GEN-BIO platform has been declared valid from material elements (98.06%), media elements (94.47%), practitioners (95.33%) and student readability (34, 02% strongly agree, 57.93% agree). The research concludes that the general biology content based on the web app on the GEN-BIO platform is suitable for offline and online learning in general biology courses in Higher Education, especially in the Department of Biology Education and the Department of Biology.
