Multifunctional Cobalt(II) Coordination Polymers Tuned by Flexible Bis(pyridylamide) Ligands with Different Spacers and Polycarboxylates

Abstract: Ten multifunctional cobalt(II) coordination polymers with the formulas of [Co(L 1 )0.5(5-AIP)]·H2O (1), [Co(L 2 )(5-AIP)(H2O)2] (2), [Co(L 3 )0.5(5-AIP)] (3), [Co(L 4 )0.5(5-AIP)(H2O)]·2H2O (4), [Co(L 5 )(5-AIP)] (5), [Co(HBTC)(L 3 )]·H2O (6), [Co(HBTC)(L 6 )(H2O)]·3H2O (7), [Co(L 2 )(1,3-BDC)(H2O)2] (8), [Co2(L 3 )2(1,3-BDC)2]·4H2O (9), and [Co2(L 4 )1.5(1,2-BDC)(μ2-OH)(μ3-OH)(H2O)]·H2O (10) have been prepared by a hydrothermal technique employing six flexible bis(pyridylamide)… Show more

“…In the IR spectra of complexes 1-3, no band in the region 1690-1730 cm -1 indicates complete deprotonation of the carboxylic groups [26]. The asymmetric and symmetric stretching vibrations of carboxylate groups are observed in the ranges of 1624-1560 cm -1 and 1488-1333 cm -1 , respectively and 3, respectively, being in agreement with their coordination modes [27]. The purity of complexes 1-3 is confirmed by X-ray power diffraction analyses, as shown in Fig.…”

“…S12a and S13a show the cyclic voltammograms of 1-3-CPE at different scan rates, respectively. It can be seen that a reversible redox peak attributed to the redox of Co III /Co II is observed at the 1-3-CPE in the potential range of 500 to À 200 mV, 500 to À 300 mV, and 600 to À 200 mV, respectively [43,44]. The mean peak potentials E 1/2 ¼(E pa þE pc )/2 are þ127 mV for 1-CPE, þ32 mV for 2-CPE, and 110 mV for 3-CPE (120 mV s À 1 ), respectively.…”

“…[1][2][3][4][5][6] Apart from those classical catalysts, the exploitation of semiconductor photocatalysts based on coordination polymers (CPs), which can be used to decompose organic pollutants under UV/Vis light, has become one of the major green and high-efficient water treatment technologies for environmental remediation. [7][8][9][10] It is well known that photocatalysts with high specific surface area and appropriate bandgap can enrich adsorption of the dye on the catalyst and accelerate separation rate of photogenerated electron-hole pairs. [11][12][13] Although rapid progress in the construction of CPs has been made, it is still unpredictable to con-1 stacking interactions.…”
