“…5 Mucinous metaplasia of the tubal epithelium has been described by some authors. 1,2,4,5,7,8,10,13,14 The results of the current study indicate that SMMN-FGT might be a consequence of pyloric gland metaplasia. PGM of the uterine cervix is usually associated with endocervical glandular hyperplasia 15 and is interchangeably called LEGH, which was first described by Nucci et al 16 Although LEGH ⁄ PGM is considered to be a benign condition, 16,17 recent studies have demonstrated that it can be associated with adenocarcinomas, 18,19 emphasizing its significance as a possible precursor of adenocarcinoma.…”

“…Mikami et al defined synchronous mucinous metaplasia and neoplasms of the female genital tract (SMMN‐FGT) for lesions that were widespread over the mucinous glands, including uterine cervix, endometrium, fallopian tube and ovary. The morphology of lesions included benign, malignant and nonneoplastic features . We will report a case of SMMN‐FGT, which contained multifocal benign and invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma involving the uterine cervix, endometrium and left fallopian tube.…”
