Managing trust in a distributed Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is challenging when collaboration or cooperation is critical to achieving mission and system goals such as reliability, availability, scalability, and reconfigurability. In defining and managing trust in a military MANET, we must consider the interactions between the composite cognitive, social, information and communication networks, and take into account the severe resource constraints (e.g., computing power, energy, bandwidth, time), and dynamics (e.g., topology changes, node mobility, node failure, propagation channel conditions). We seek to combine the notions of "social trust" derived from social networks with "quality-of-service (QoS) trust" derived from information and communication networks to obtain a composite trust metric. We discuss the concepts and properties of trust and derive some unique characteristics of trust in MANETs, drawing upon social notions of trust. We provide a survey of trust management schemes developed for MANETs and discuss generally accepted classifications, potential attacks, performance metrics, and trust metrics in MANETs. Finally, we discuss future research areas on trust management in MANETs based on the concept of social and cognitive networks.

Cloud promises users that they can present and deploy IT services in a pay-as-you-go fashion in an open and virtualized cloud environment while saving huge capital investment in their own IT infrastructure. In this sense, protection of users' privacy is critical and has become one of the most concerned issues as otherwise users may eventually lose the confidence and passion of deploying cloud in practice. Under some special cloud circumstances, some users' privacy, such as plans or habits, could be induced from their service requests by service providers without permissions from users. In this regard, obfuscation strategy can protect this kind of privacy by injecting 'noise' service requests to confuse potential 'immoral' service providers. However, existing noise obfuscation strategies focus on single noise injection whereas investigation of noise injection architecture has been neglected. Especially, a common service pattern in inter-clouds environment, the cooperative service process including different service providers, makes the risk of privacy serious and uncontrollable by the spread of users' privacy. To address this, we present a novel trust-based noise injection strategy for privacy protection in cloud. To support the strategy, we describe our noise injection architecture in cloud which specializes in the relations between various service roles in inter-clouds based on our trust model. The simulation can demonstrate that our noise injection strategy could significantly improve the effectiveness of privacy protection.

Η εμπιστοσύνη παίζει κυρίαρχο ρόλο στοην ποιότητα παροχής διάχυτων υπηρεσιών υγείας σε ασθενείς με διαταραχές άγχους καθώς εάν δεν υπάρχει σχέση εμπιστοσύνης μεταξύ παρόχου-χρήστη παρατηρείται περιορισμένη πρόθεση διαμοιρασμού προσωπικών δεδομένων ή/και υλοποίησης των οδηγιών. Ως εκ τούτου απατείται η λήψη του παράγοντα εμπιστοσύνης κατά την επιλογή παρόχου εντός περιβάλλοντος διάχυτης και εξατομικευμένης παροχής υπηρεσιών υγείας. Η ανάγκη αυτή επιλύεται μέσω ενός Συστήματος Διαχείρισης Εμπιστούνης (ΣΔΕ) το οποίο προβλέπει την εμπιστοσύνη του παρόχου με βάση την Ατομική Εμπειρία (ΑΕ) του χρήστη που αιτείται την υπηρεσία και την Φήμη του παρόχου εντός της ομάδας θεραπείας του αιτούντα. Με στόχο την ακριβή και σθεναρή διαδικασία εκτίμησης εμπιστοσύνης ακόμη και ενάντια σε κακόβουλες επιθέσεις οι Μηχανισμοί του ΣΔΕ προτείνεται να μοντελοποιηθούν μαθηματικά στη βάση της θεωρίας των Νεφών. Ουσιαστικά πρόκειται για μια ασαφοπιθανοτική προσέγγιση της λειτουργίας του ΣΔΕ που βασίζεται στον λεκτικό λογισμό. Η συγκριτική προσομοιωτική και πειραματική μελέτη του ΣΔΕ αποδεικνύει την υψηλή απόδοσή του σε καθαρό περιβάλλον και υπό την επίδραση κακόβουλων επιθέσεων.
