This study is an example of how categories relevant to research can be accessed through in-depth interviews. The interview method generates an interactive awareness process to which both partners contribute in equal measure, and which complies with the requirements of intercultural research ethics.Fü r die interkulturelle Forschung ist die virtuelle interkulturelle Kommunikation von großem Interesse. Wie kann ein Forscher Zugang zu diesem Untersuchungsfeld gewinnen, wenn er die dort verwendeten Sprachen nicht oder nur teilweise spricht. Die Untersuchung zeigt exemplarisch wie mit der Methode des problemzentrierten Interviews ein Zugang zu forschungsrelevanten Kategorien gefunden werden kann. Die Interviewmethode generiert einen interaktiven Erkenntnisprozess, zu dem beide Interviewpartner gleichberechtigt beitragen und der den Anforderungen an eine interkulturelle Forschungsethik gerecht wird.
