The recent advancement in computing technologies and resulting vision based applications has given rise to a novel practice called telemedicine that requires patient diagnosis images or allied information to recommend or even perform diagnosis practices being located remotely. However, to ensure accurate and optimal telemedicine there is the requirement of seamless or flawless biomedical information about patient. On the contrary, medical data transmitted over insecure channel often remains prone to manipulated or corrupted by attackers. The existing cryptosystems alone are not sufficient to deal with these issues and hence in this paper a highly robust reversible image steganography model has been developed for secret information hiding. Unlike traditional wavelet transform techniques, we incorporated Discrete Ripplet Transformation (DRT) technique for message embedding in the medical cover images. In addition to, ensure seamless communication over insecure channel, a dual cryptosystem model containing proposed steganography scheme and RSA cryptosystem has been developed. One of the key novelties of the proposed research work is the use of adaptive genetic algorithm (AGA) for optimal pixel adjustment process (OPAP) that enriches data hiding capacity as well as imperceptibility features. The performance assessment reveals that the proposed steganography model outperforms other wavelet transformation based approaches in terms of high PSNR, embedding capacity, imperceptibility etc.

Abstract. Recently, there has been an increased interest in the transmission of digital medical images for e-health services. However, existing implementations of this service do not pay much attention to the confidentiality and protection of patients' information. In this paper, we present a new medical image steganography technique for protecting patients' confidential information through the embedding of this information in the image itself while maintaining high quality of the image as well as high embedding capacity. This technique divides the cover image into two areas, the Region of Interest (ROI) and the Region of Non-Interest (RONI), by performing Otsu's method and then encloses ROI pixels in a rectangular shape according to the binary pixel intensities. In order to improve the security, the Electronic Patient Records (EPR) is embedded in the high frequency sub-bands of the wavelet transform domain of the RONI pixels. An edge detection method is proposed using overlapping blocks to identify and classify the edge regions. Then, it embeds two secret bits into three coefficient bits by performing an XOR operation to minimize the difference between the cover and stego images. The experimental results indicate that the proposed method provides a good compromise between security, embedding capacity and visual quality of the stego images.

Steganography word is making from two words: one is Steganos that means "covered or secret" and second is the graphic that means "writing". Similarly Cryptography word is also making from two words: one is Crypto that means "Alter original word Meaning" and second is the graphic that means "writing". In this work, Enhance Steganography technique with cryptograph technique is proposed, developed and analyzed. The proposed technique encrypts the confidential image by the proposed encryption technique initially and then hides the cipher image by Steganography technique which is using randomization techniques during selection of LSB. The results of the proposed technique are discussed and analyzed based on the peek signal to noise ratio (PSNR) and Correlation. The proposed technique is simple, fast secure and efficient, it strong to attack and better the image quality.
