“…Furthermore, Hymenoptera and Coleoptera insects, and Myrtaceae and Piperaceae fruits have been the most frequent food resource in the diet of small mammals (Camargo et al 2014;Lessa & Costa 2010;Pinotti et al 2011;Lessa et al 2019). Hymenoptera, Coleoptera, Isoptera, Diptera and Araneae have been the main arthropod groups found in the study area (see, Hannibal et al 2018).…”

“…We analysed the digestive tract contents of small mammals deposited in the Mammal Collection of the Universidade Estadual de Goi as (CMUEG). The individuals were collected through Sherman, wire-cage and pitfall traps distributed in 14 semi-deciduous forest patches (minimum size 39.5 ha, maximum size 142 ha) in southern Goi as state, Central Brazil, from 2013 to 2015 (see Hannibal et al 2015;Hannibal et al 2018 for detailed capture and field methodological approaches). We undertook necropsy in 16 marsupials (five species) and 31 rodents (seven species) individuals and removed the digestive tracts from pharynx to anus.…”

“…We imported the polygons created in Google Earth into QGIS (version 2.14.8-Essen; QGIS Development Team 2014, Essen, Germany), saved them as a shapefile and re-projected all in WGS84 datum in the Universal Transversal Mercator (UTM) coordinate system. We generated a 1-km buffer from the border of the fragment to characterize the matrix within the buffer, a method that has been used for small mammals and primates in Neotropical studies [7,8,64,65]. We selected this buffer size because it is the mean travel distance in the matrix reported for some Neotropical primates [66][67][68].…”
