Multi-mycotoxin stable isotope dilution LC-MS/MS method for Fusarium toxins in cereals

Abstract: A multi-mycotoxin stable isotope dilution LC-MS/MS method was developed for 14 Fusarium toxins including modified mycotoxins in cereals (deoxynivalenol, 3-acetyldeoxynivalenol, 15-acetyldeoxynivalenol, HT2-toxin, T2-toxin, enniatin B, enniatin B1, enniatin A1, enniatin A, beauvericin, fusarenone X, nivalenol, deoxynivalenol-3-glucoside, and zearalenone). The chromatographic separation of the toxins with particular focus on deoxynivalenol and deoxynivalenol-3-glucoside was achieved using a C18-hydrosphere colum… Show more

“…Moreover, conjugated forms of DON (DON-3-Glc, 15ADON, 3ADON) were included [50]. Isotopically labeled standards of 3ADON, T2, enniatins, and beauvericin were prepared in-house.…”

“…The following described validation of our new multi-mycotoxin stable isotope dilution LC-MS/MS method for Fusarium toxins was performed similar to the validation procedure Habler & Rychlik (2016), Liu & Rychlik (2013), and Hu & Rychlik (2012) published.…”

“…A possible approach to cope with the matrix effect is represented by stable isotope dilution assay (SIDA) [26]. Multi-mycotoxins methods applying this technique have been developed [27,28], also thanks to in-house synthesis of labeled isotopologue mycotoxin standards, including isotopologues of modified forms (i.e., DON3Glc, 3Ac-DON, 15Ac-DON) [29]. Authenticity and method performance have been demonstrated by analyzing naturally contaminated samples, such as malt, beer and maize [30].…”
