In light of the rapidly growing industrialization in BRICS and G7 regions, thorough energy, financials, and environmental analyses are essential for sustainable financial development in these countries. In this context, this work analyzes the relationship between energy, financial, and environmental sustainability and the regions’ social performance. Data from 2000 to 2017 is analyzed through a data envelopment analysis (DEA) like a composite index. Results show China and Brazil’s better performance in the region, with a sustainability score of 0.96, India was the third, followed by South Africa and Russia. Japan, the UK, and the USA were the most energy-efficient countries for five consecutive years. A 0.18%, 0.27%, 0.22%, 0.09%, 0.31%, and 0.32% reduction in carbon emission is observed with a 1% increase in R&D costs by Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the USA, respectively. This work contributes to the existing literature regarding an eco-friendly sustainable policy design for the G7 countries based on multiple indicators.

Managers have to make decisions several times a day. The decision-making process can be defined as an essential activity realized by managers every day. Decisions can be implemented intuitively, or by using relevant decision-making methods. This depends on the nature of the decision, as well as the intensity of its possible future effects. The theory of decision-making can be defined as a relatively young discipline. It can be stated that decision-making is no longer an intuitive process. Most decision-making situations are of a multiple criteria character. In this contribution, the authors focus on multiple-criteria decision-making, to which several methods can be applied. In the practical part, the authors use Saaty's method, also known as the Analytic Hierarchy Process. Saaty is considered to be the most important researcher dealing with the issue of multiple-criteria decision-making. The set multiple-criteria decision-making problem was to choose one business partner out of eight under consideration. The decision-making criteria included selected financial indicators and non-financial criteria. The aim of the contribution is to use the Analytic Hierarchy Process to assess potential business partners and to select an optimal candidate.

Energy conservation through sustainable energy technologies (SETs) in the construction industry is capturing considerable attention worldwide. However, the presence of challenges makes SETs implementation difficult, and hence to increase the effective adoption of SETs, potential strategies are essential to overcome challenges. The objective of this study is to identify and rank major strategies of SETs adoption in the construction sector to overcome its barriers. This study proposes an integrated framework based on two methodologies, fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (FAHP) and fuzzy technique for order performance by similarity to an ideal solution (F‐TOPSIS), to prioritize major strategies to overcome SETs adoption barriers. Initially, obstacles and strategies are identified from a comprehensive literature review. Later, FAHP is utilized to obtain weights of various SETs barriers through pairwise comparison, and strategies are ranked by using F‐TOPSIS. The proposed methodology is empirically applied to the construction sector of developing countries. The integrated framework provides a detailed and effective decision‐making tool for uptake and adoption of SETs. Lastly, the robustness of the methodology is evaluated with the support of sensitivity analysis. Results indicate that government and economic barriers are the most critical barriers which can be overcome through cooperation of relevant authorities, financial assistance, and developing appropriate policies.
