Multi-Carrier $M$-ary DCSK System With Code Index Modulation: An Efficient Solution for Chaotic Communications

Abstract: A new multi-carrier M -ary differential chaos shift keying system with code index modulation, referred to as CIM-MC-M -DCSK, is proposed in this paper. In the proposed CIM-MC-M -DCSK system, the reference and information-bearing signals for each subcarrier can be transmitted simultaneously by using the orthogonal sinusoidal carriers, where the informationbearing signal adopts the M -DCSK modulation to further increase the data rate. With an aim to making full use of the system energy resources, the reference s… Show more

“…Especially, in [24], the media-based modulation technique (MBM), which is one of the newest index modulation technology, is introduced to the DCSK system to provide a significant increase in both spectral efficiency and data rate through implementing index modulation with reconfigurable antennas. Nowadays, there have been many researches combining M-ary modulation, multi carrier modulation and index modulation to further increase the data rate of the DCSK system [25][26][27][28].…”

“…For alleviating channel noise as well as improving BER performance, a subcarrier-allocated MC-DCSK system was presented in [18]. To achieve higher performance, a multi-carrier M-ary DCSK system with code index modulation was proposed in [19], where the index modulation based on Walsh codes was used.…”

“…The code pair of source code and channel code were jointly optimized in [23], [29]. Moreover, three or four components among source code, channel code, type-I linking matrix and type-II linking matrix were jointly optimized over the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel by binary phase shift keying (BPSK) modulation [25], or over the Rayleigh fading channel [26] by M-ary differential chaos shift keying (DCSK) modulation [27].…”
