Motorised digital levels: development and applications

Abstract: A low-cost motorisation of the Leica DNA03 digital level was designed to enable the automatic monitoring of deformations without compromising its manual use in levelling. The upgrade of the instrument and its electronic control system are described together with laboratory tests carried out to study the effects of ambient temperature on the level. A simple model for the correction of measurements as a function of the temperature is proposed. The detection of vertical movements with sub-millimetre accuracy was … Show more

“…Um exemplo de protótipo de automação para nível digital pode ser encontrado em Pellegrinelli et al(2013). Neste artigo explica-se como foi desenvolvido um sistema de automação para o nível digital DNA 03 para permitir o monitoramento automático e contínuo de deformações em estruturas sem comprometer seu uso manual no nivelamento.…”

“…This happens even with a compensator inside these digital devices (Ko & Ni, 2003). Sunlight and its direction also cause a change in the accuracy of digital instruments, and also climate conditions as wind, moisture (Gassner, 2005), (Pellegrinelli, Furini, Bonfè & Russo, 2013), and temperature (Pašagić & Risović, 2003). Whether it increases or decreases, it affects the efficiency of these instruments (Gucević, J., Delčev, S., & Ogrizović, V., 2011), (Kowalczyk & Rapinski, 2014).…”
