“…The anatomical relationships of the ACP, ON, chiasm, internal carotid artery (ICA), ophthalmic artery (OA) and falciform ligament (FL) are complex and represent important variations. In the past three decades a number of researchers have examined some parts of the supra-and parasellar region, yet the anatomy of this area remains complex and varied (3,7,(9)(10)(11)(12)19,(22)(23)(24)29,31,32,34,35). This region also is one of the most common that can be affected by many neoplastic and vascular neurosurgical lesions.…”

“…The pituitary volume (272.552 mm 3 ) of the inedia subject is less compared to the normal pituitary volume, which is around 390.99 mm 3 [16]. The height, width, and length of pituitary gland (4.7, 10.5, 10.00 mm) of the inedia subject is small compared to the normal findings on Korean adults reported by Ju et al [15] (8 mm in length, 14 mm in width, and 6 mm in height).…”

“…A study conducted by Ju et al [15] on 33 human cadavers (23 were male cadavers in the age group of 23-87 years and 10 were female cadavers in the age group of 28-76 years) reports that in the anterior lobes the mean width, length, and height of the pituitary gland were found to be 14.3 ± 2.1, 7.9 ± 1.3, 6.0 ± 0.9 mm and 8.7 ± 1.7, 2.9 ± 1.1, 5.8 ± 1.0 mm in posterior lobes, respectively. Ertekin et al [16] estimated the volume of 6 male pituitary glands with an age range of 35-66 years, using stereoscopic approaches such as point counting (582.14 ± 140.16 mm 3 ), planimetry (610.08 ± 133.17 mm 3 ), and elliptical formula (390.99 ± 105.46 mm 3 ).…”

“…Ju et al 16 investigated the normal dimensions of the neurohypophysis in a series of 33 autopsy cases. The dimensions were measured in the craniocaudal and anteroposterior axes instead of along the longest and perpendicular axes.…”
