Morfometri Kepiting Air Tawar Parathelphulsa maindroni Dari Dua Tipe Habitat di Taman Nasional Gunung Palung Kalimantan Barat

Abstract

Freshwater crab Parathelphusa maindroni live in several types of habitats, but morphometric data are not yet available. The aim of the study was to obtain morphometric data for P. maindroni in two types of habitat, namely rivers and freshwater swamps. Morphometric data were obtained based on the ratio and analyzed descriptively. We found 28 and 24 individuals of P. maindroni in stream and swamp habitats respectively. Morphometric data of crab from stream and swamp could be distinguished by the ratio of sternum and chela. P. maindroni in stream have a higher ratio of male sternum, whereas in swamp, female sternum is higher, meanwhile the ratio of different chela sizes is only found in stream.
