First Experiences in Combination Therapy Using Olanzapine with SSRIs (Citalopram, Paroxetine) in Delusional Depression

“…Comparing the combination of citalopram (and paroxetine) with olanzapine in our study, a significant difference in another group of patients treated with haloperidol and tricyclic antidepressants is found on treatment day 14 (age-correlated and identical setting, unpublished data). The difference from zotepine monotherapy and combined treatment with zotepine and antidepressants [4,9] proved to be not significant. These results were confirmed indirectly in a large group of schizophrenics, in psychoses and in schizoaffective psychoses, since olanzapine showed a significant superiority to haloperidol with regard to the reduction of depressive symptoms [17].…”

Thyroid Parameters during Therapy with Zotepine in Delusional Depression

We investigated this possible active principle for 2 years in a clinical observation study either as monotherapy with zotepine or as administration of zotepine in combination with paroxetine [15][16][17] in severely depressed patients on the Depression Ward. The objective of the present pilot study was to investigate a possible change of thyroid parameters in the course of therapy.…”
