Microwave assisted synthesis of boron(lll) complexes of isobutylmethylketone-benzothiazoline (L|H) and isobutylmethylketonedithiocarbazate (L2H) has been reported. The newly synthesized compounds, have been characterized thoroughly by physico-chemical and spectroscopic techniques. The spectral data are consistent with a tetracoordinated environment around the boron atom in which the ligands acts as a monobasic bidentate ligand, coordinating through nitrogen and sulfur atoms. Ligands and their chelates were tested against certain microorganisms to assess their antimicrobial properties and the results are indeed positive.Brought to you by | Purdue University Libraries Authenticated Download Date | 6/14/15 9:22 AM Vol. II, No. 5. 2005 Microwave synthesis and biochemical studies ofboron (iii) complexes
