“…We focused our attention on some environmental pollutants belonging to various chemical classes: (a) bisphenols; (b) phthalates; (c) chlorobenzenes; (d) 4‐ nonylphenol (4‐NP); and (e) triclosan (TCS). We considered eight bisphenols (BPs), a group of chemicals widely used as monomers in the manufactureg of polycarbonate plastics and in the resin lining of food and beverage cans (Chen, Ike, & Fujita, ; Fattore, Russo, Barbato, Grumetto, & Albrizio, ; Goodman et al, ; Grumetto et al, ; Grumetto, Montesano, Seccia, Albrizio, & Barbato, ; Kitamura et al, ; Vandenberg et al, ), as well as in thermal paper as a color developer (Liao & Kannan, ; Russo, Barbato, & Grumetto, ). BPs have been found in biological fluids such as human urine, serum, follicular fluid and seminal plasma (Berge, Lygre, Jonsson, Lindh, & Bjorkman, ; Younglai, Foster, Hughes, Trim, & Jarrell, ), and slightly higher concentrations of unconjugated BPA were found in human saliva in people with dental fillings (Berge et al, ).…”
