“…Moreover, EGFR can specically bind to monoclonal antibodies EGFRmAb (Cetuximab, CET) 45,46 to achieve internalization. In addition, as a tyrosine kinase receptor, EGFR can be inhibited by corresponding small molecule inhibitors, such as getinib 47,48 and erlotinib. 49,50 Both monoclonal antibodies and inhibitors inhibit EGFR-mediated downstream signalling when providing targeting capabilities.…”

“…[ 303–305 ] In a recently developed MoS 2 ‐based multifunctional nanotheranostic system, HA‐grafted MoS 2 nanosheets served as a platform to carry Gd‐based contrast agents and the anticancer drug gefitinib; they also acted as photoabsorbing agent to induce photothermal ablation of tumors. [ 306 ] In vivo results demonstrated inhibition of tumor growth that was mediated by the synergistic effects of photothermal ablation and chemotherapy through blockage of the phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (Akt) signaling pathway. Although most of the preclinical theranostic systems using functionalized‐TMDCs have demonstrated enhanced stabilities, there are reports suggesting the disturbance of cell homeostasis by 2D TMDCs.…”

“…In addition to thin, flexible, and strong characteristics, TMDs are excellent optical absorbers, thus producing photolimunescence and photothermal effects [66][67][68][69]. TMDs can be formed with various materials including molybdenum disulfide (MoS 2 ) [70][71][72][73], tungsten disulfide (WS 2 ) [74][75][76][77], and molybdenum diselenide (MoSe 2 ) [78][79][80]. Transition metal oxides (TMOs) are compounds of oxygen atoms and transition metals such as titanium (TiO 2 ) [81,82] and manganese (MnO 2 ) [83][84][85].…”
