Molten salt mixtures. Part 4.—The surface tension and surface heat content of molten salts and their mixtures

Abstract: The surface tensions over temperature ranges of about 200" have been ineasurcd for pure molten salts and the following systems : NaN03fNaN02, KN03fKNQ2, NaNQ3f AgN03, KN03fAgN03, PbC12SNaCl and KCl+NaI. Parachor and Eotvoes' constant considerations cannot be applied validly to molten salts. The surface heat content per unit area is a useful, temperature-independent quantity which can be used to compare molten salts.
