Modulation of Viscoelastic and Absorption Properties of Poly(vinyl alcohol)-graphene Oxide Composites

Abstract: PVA (poly(vinyl alcohol))/GO (graphene oxide) composites were prepared by mixing the PVA aqueous solution and GO aqueous dispersion through the freezing−thawing method. The morphology and chemical structure of GO and composites were investigated by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, respectively. Viscoelastic and swelling properties and absorption capacities of cationic dye methylene blue (MB) were studied as a function of initial concentration of PVA and GO and the number of fr… Show more

“…The viscoelastic properties of the PVA/GO nanocomposite hydrogels were investigated by small-amplitude oscillatory shear measurements, which showed a progressive increase in the storage moduli with increase in GO concentration. 43 The dielectric relaxation behaviour of PVA/rGO nanocomposite films with increased rGO concentration at varying temperature has been reported by Geeta et al 44 Numerous research articles have been reported on PVA/GO nanocomposites with varying concentration of GO. 45 In this context, a traditional freeze-thawing method has been reported for the fabrication of PVA/GO nanocomposite hydrogels.…”
