“…The material also offered good mechanical properties: ultimate elongation ε B = 420%, and true tensile stress δ B = 10 MPa. The grafting degree was determined on the basis of the water extraction results for free IA (IA is well‐soluble in water) that were presented in Ref 17…”

“…Itaconic acid has a double bond in its molecular structure. The chemical structure of itaconic acid gives it special chemical properties. It can be copolymerized with other monomers such as acrylonitrile, and can also undergo addition, esterification, condensation polymerization, and metathesis polymerization. Because of the presence of carboxyl groups, itaconic acid can be used as a substitute for acrylic acid or methacrylic acid to polymerize with vinyl acetate, dimethyl maleate, etc., and the resultant resin has good water absorption properties . Itaconic acid can be used for adhesion with acrylic latex, and it is also added to paint to improve the quality.…”

In the research of biobased polyester rubber, it is used as the cross-linking point.…”
