Show more

“…Studying statistical models for selecting helical metering mechanisms with fertilizer discharge devices, Franck et al (2015) stated that the discharge meter without flow restrictor showed a greater sensitivity regarding the effects of operating inclinations whereas the discharge meter by lateral overflow showed a lower sensitivity.…”

“…Equations 2and 4, which represent the behavior of the helical metering mechanism by longitudinal (M1) and lateral overflow (M3), respectively, showed similar variations relative to the inclination. Similar behavior was observed by Ferreira et al (2010), Franck et al (2015), and Garcia et al (2017), who reported that metering mechanisms with longitudinal or lateral overflows when subjected to positive (acclivity) and negative (declivity) longitudinal inclinations cause increases and decreases, respectively, in the application rate.…”

“…These authors emphasized how significant and relevant the use of the SPC was in the soil preparation, facilitating the tracking of the operational quality. Franck et al (2015) analyzed the distribution of fertilizers through the activation speed and leaning of the dispenser, proving how the declivity of the terrain influences the rate of application of the nutrients in a different way per the analyzed dispenser. They also reported that the auger -gravity discharge showed more vulnerability regarding the transversal and longitudinal inclinations, resulting in low precision in the distribution of the fertilizers, while the helical mechanism -transverse discharge through overflow obtained a better distribution of fertilizers.…”
