Abstract:<p>A abelha irapuá (Trigona spinipes) é uma espécie de abelha sem ferrão polinizadora de várias espécies vegetais, mas que também tem causado danos a algumas culturas tais como a flor copo-de-leite (Zantedeschia aethiopica). Isto porque, as abelhas ao coletarem o pólen ou resinas nesta espécie, danificam suas inflorescências, deixando-as inviáveis para comercialização.
