Modelling integrated extreme hydrology

Abstract: The present research is concerned with some numerical developments and practical application of a physically based numerical model FreshWaterSheds that incorporates a finite element solution to the steady/transient problems of the joint ground/surface fresh/salt water flows in inland and coastal regulated watersheds. The proposed model considers surface and groundwater interactions to be 2-D horizontally distributed and depth-averaged through a diffusive wave approach. Infiltration rates, overland flows and ev… Show more

“…Despite the inconsistency in the breaking time, this time (3:30 a.m.) was preferred by some authors (Gallart et al 1999;Moreno-Millán and Valdés-Morillo 2003). On the other hand, an earlier time between 0:30 and 1:00 a.m. is also extensively supported in the literature (Alonso and Gens 2000;Arenas et al 2001;Ayala-Carcedo 2004;CSIC 2008;Fajardo et al 2016;McDermott and Sibley 2000;Padilla et al 2016).…”
