El presente artículo pretende divulgar un análisis de literatura sobre la implementación de la modelación matemática en la práctica educativa del profesor de básica primaria[1]. Luego de revisar y analizar artículos e investigaciones[2], mediante algunos procedimientos de codificación y categorización, se logró establecer elementos que pueden fundamentar el estudio en cuestión, tales como: modelación matemática, una reflexión sobre el currículo en Colombia; desarrollo y conocimiento profesional del profesor de matemáticas; modelación matemática en la básica primaria: obstáculos y retos. Se reconocieron barreras que presenta el profesor al tratar de enseñar matemáticas mediante un proceso de modelación. Incluso, uno de los aspectos relevantes sería fortalecer su conocimiento profesional con el que podría asumir retos y superar estas barreras cuando intenta enseñar a través de dicho proceso. Se concluye que es relevante generar espacios de desarrollo profesional a partir de la modelación, con la intención de fortalecer el conocimiento del profesor para una posible transformación de su práctica educativa. According to Ikeda (2007), the lack of adequate mathematical textbooks is a common obstacle to teach modelling in lower secondary school, and Cabassut and Wagner (2011) found that modelling was described only implicitly in tasks in primary textbooks in France and Germany. The main purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between real-life activities in German and Turkey primary school 4th-grade mathematics textbooks, according to the classification proposed by Gainsburg (2008). For this purpose, document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. The data source of the research is "Fredo 4 Mathematics" in Germany and "Primary School 4th Grade Mathematics Textbook" in Turkey. In the research, descriptive analysis was used in the analysis of the data, and the results were reflected in frequency and percentage tables. The results of the research show that the activities in the mathematics textbooks of both countries are mostly "classical word problems" and the problems include real contexts. It has been revealed that the mathematics textbooks of both countries are strong in terms of activities such as "applied mathematical representations", and the number of activities in the type of real data analysis should be increased.
