Sash gang saws with narrow-kerf saw blades are used in the production of glued laminate flooring elements in plants where dry technology is applied. This means that boards or friezes are sawn into top layer lamellae in dry conditions (moisture content of about 10–12%) from expensive wood species, often exotic. The object of this research was stellite-tipped teeth of narrow kerf saw blades sharpened under industrial conditions. A NIKON ECLIPSE Ti-S microscope equipped with a NIKON DS-Fi2 recording camera was used to take pictures of teeth, which were analysed in a graphical software to measure the radii of the main cutting edges. The high-quality images obtained were used to determine the values of the rounding radii of the cutting edges. It was noted that the quality of edges regenerated in industrial conditions, some of which had chipping, was lower than that of brand new saw blades.

Omówiono zagadnienie geometrycznego modelowania frezu walcowego oraz obliczania jego ugięć pod wpływem obciążeń odwzorowujących siły skrawania występujące podczas frezowania powierzchni wyrobu ze stopu Al 7075. W modelowaniu uwzględniono 2 modele przestrzenne frezu walcowego: z prostoliniowymi krawędziami skrawającymi oraz ze śrubowymi krawędziami skrawającymi. Wzięto pod uwagę oddziaływanie sił skupionych i różnych rozkładów obciążeń odwzorowują-cych siły skrawania. Wyciągnięto wnioski dotyczące wpływu kąta nachylenia sił względem wybranej osi układu współrzęd-nych na generowane naprężenia zredukowane i deformacje frezu. Do obliczenia pól przemieszczeń, odkształceń i naprę-żeń wykorzystano metodę elementów skończonych. SŁOWA KLUCZOWE: frezowanie, frez walcowy, metoda elementów skończonych, przemieszczenia, odkształcenia, naprę-żeniaThe problem of geometric modeling of the plain milling cutter and its deflection under the influence of loads mapping forces occurring during the milling of the Al 7075 alloy surface is discussed. In modeling, 2 types of plain milling cutters are included: with rectilinear cutting edges and with helical cutting edges. The influence of concentrated forces and different distributions of loads mapping the cutting forces, is considered. Conclusions are drawn regarding the influence of the force inclination angles relative to the selected axis of the coordinate system on the generated effective stresses and cutter deformations. The finite element method was used to calculate the displacements, deformations and stresses. Skutkuje to coraz bardziej powszechnym stosowaniem monolitycznych konstrukcji, często cienkościennych, frezowanych ze stopów metali lekkich lub kompozytów [1]. Jednym z takich materiałów jest stop aluminium Al 7075, oznaczony Al-5,6Zn-2,5Mg-1,6Cu-0,23Cr o gęstości 2,81 g/cm 3 , module Younga 72 GPa i wytrzymałości na rozciąganie w stanie T6, tj. po przesycaniu i sztucznym starzeniu, 350 MPa [1]. Wprawdzie - podobnie jak inne stopy z grupy Al-Zn-Mg-Cu - także ten stop jest podatny na pękanie spowodowane korozją napręże-niową, jednak ze względu na relatywnie dużą wytrzymałość właściwą stop Al 7075 ma szerokie zastosowanie w lotnictwie [1]. Do najważniejszych czynników wpływających na dokładność kształtu i wymiarów wyrobu powstającego na obrabiarce CNC należą kinematyka, dynamika, sztywność i dokładność obrabiarki oraz system sterowania CNC. Istotne są także: rozkład temperatury w obszarze roboczym, występujące w procesie obróbki obciążenia, sztywność narzędzi i ich zużycie, zamocowanie przedmiotu obrabianego oraz właściwości materiałów przedmiotu i narzędzia [1,2]. The article proposes modification of machine tool structures methodology on the example of a body of vertical milling centre stand. It is based on the results of experimental research and allows for the prediction of dynamic features of individual bodies and complete structures on the basis of the described modal model. It takes into account the possibility of mass change at the model node and the introduction of additional rigidity and damping by a combination of selected nodes of the model. The methodology can be applied in the case of machine tools in which the loss of stability has been found during its maintenance, what consequently disables the possibility of machining with the required machining parameters from the performance point of view. Modal parameters modification is based on structural dynamic modification techniques and preliminary simulation tests performed by using Finite Element Method (FEM) and verification with experimental research.
