Modeling the Indian households' intention to adopt the solar net metering system

Abstract: PurposeThe present study aims to develop and offer a model to evaluate the customers' attitude and intention to adopt solar net metering systems (commonly called solar NMS) in a developing economy. Therefore, the research examines different factors affecting the Indian households' attitudes and intention to adopt solar NMS.Design/methodology/approachThe data were collected from 247 solar NMS users from India. The structural equation modeling (SEM) technique was applied using SmartPLS 3.3.2 software to analyze … Show more

“…In the next step, discriminant validity of the constructs was established with HTMT ratio. The recommended value of HTMT between two constructs should be less than 0.85 (Henseler et al, 2015; Kumar et al, 2022). As per Table 4, the calculated value of HTMT was less than the threshold value.…”

“…However, a very limited number of studies have adopted the UTAUT model to comprehend behavioral intentions to adopt SWHS while the use of the "Theory of Planned Behavior" (TPB) (Chen et al, 2016) and "Diffusion of Innovation Theory" (Yu and Gibbs, 2018) is widespread. Furthermore, in the case of India, only Kumar et al (2022a) evaluated behavioral intentions to adopt SWHs but this study does not adopt a particular theoretical model and its sampling area is different. Thus, the present study will be the primary one to comprehend behavioral intentions to adopt SWHs using the UTAUT model in seven states of India depicting regional diversity in temperature and climate.…”
