Modeling Service Dependencies in Ad Hoc Collaborative Systems

Abstract: Several service management tasks or activities benefit fromor are even impossible withoutthe knowledge about service dependencies. Ad hoc collaborative environments impose special problems to the dependency modeling. In this paper we analyze these problems and propose a modeling approach for specifying static and dynamical aspects of dependencies. Modeling is based on the standard Unified Modeling Language, UML. Besides the standard modeling constructs we use new tagged values too. Applicability of the modelin… Show more

“…The proposed approach exploits wrappers to make the reused services match the specified choreography. Some studies [12,35,109,150] investigate dependency management in a dynamic service composition scenario. Employed techniques include service and middleware instrumentation, use of self-healing rules, and establishment of a dependency-aware service-oriented architecture.…”

“…It states that critical components should only use and not depend on non-critical components. In [13], a UML-based dependency model describes service dependencies in ad hoc systems. It focuses on the dependencies relevant to ad hoc collaborative environments.…”
