Modeling of the Contact Removal of Iron From Groundwater

Abstract: The paper presents the problem of underwater treatment for drinking water needs. Technological features of water preparation and facilities for its implementation are studied. The model of the removal of iron from water has been developed, mass exchange coefficients have been determined, graphic illustrations of the change of pressure losses and the quality of the filtrate during filtration have been constructed. An algorithm for the solution of a nonlinear regular perturbation problem of the convection-mass t… Show more

“…The solution to the model problem (Eqs. ( 4) and ( 5)) was found similarly to Safonyk, Bomba and Tarhonii (2018), Safonyk, Martynov and Kynytskyi (2019), and Safonyk, Zhukovskyy and Burduk (2020). The developed numerical method and the corresponding algorithms were implemented in the Python software environment.…”

“…We consider the process of liquid purification from organic contaminants using biological bacteria. According to scientific studies Safonyk, Bomba and Tarhonii, 2018;Safonyk, Martynov and Kynytskyi, 2019;Safonyk, Zhukovskyy and Burduk, 2020), the purification process includes the following stages: decomposition of organic pollutants by bacteria, growth and death of bacteria, formation of "young" bacteria by active sludge, and the transition of impurities to biologically non-oxidisable substances.…”

“…The impurities magnetic deposition process, which is realized in a magnetic filter (0 ≤ x ≤ L) with a homogeneous granular filter nozzle, is carried out according to the laws, the prototype of which is a classical model of filtration [12], taking into account the inverse effect of the deposited particles on the porosity σ and coefficientα, as well as the filtration coefficient, [12].…”

“…The solution of the corresponding model problem with the use of the asymptotic approximation [3,4,6] of the solution of the boundary value problem is found, and the results of calculations of the distribution of the concentration of iron and water temperature in the electrocoagulator and the output of the coagulator depending on the current strength are given.…”
