Modeling of casting technology of large-sized ingots from deformable aluminum alloys

Abstract: Industrial technology has been developed for the semi-continuous casting of large-sized ingots from deformable aluminum alloys through the use of complex modeling, including computer modeling and physical modeling. The ProCAST and ANSYS software packages equipped with the FLUENT module were used for computer modeling. The physical modeling was carried out on a laboratory semi-continuous casting unit (SCCU), which represents a tenfold reduced physical model of an industrial casting unit for the vertical semi-co… Show more

“…Therefore, wheel pair elements require a specific manufacturing process to ensure the necessary conditions for durability and high reliability [1][2][3]. These issues are relevant for the newly created research center for railway transport, which solves many issues to ensure the safety, reliability, increased service life of cars, their parts, assemblies, including, among other things, the use of modern lightweight materials and technologies for their processing in car construction, wear phenomena [4][5][6][7][8][9][10], improving the thermal characteristics of cars of all types [11][12][13][14][15] and many others.…”

“…This makes it possible to reduce energy costs for transportation, achieve fuel economy, and reduce emissions into the atmosphere on the basis of a Sustainable Development Program. For this purpose, a critical analysis of modern scientific literature was made [7,9,11,[13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20], which allowed us to conclude that it is necessary to use lightweight materials, as well as reinforcing technologies for their processing, including for their use in the creation of new wagons, including dynamometric.…”
