Modeling and simulation of air-gapped current transformer based on Preisach Theory

Abstract: Current Transformer (CT) modeling, by which CT's characteristics can be studied has a significant importance in CT selection and design. In spite of numerous studies about closed-core CT model, only a few works have been conducted on air-gapped ones with the following problems: models of which required data is easily-accessible, have poor simulations of magnetization process; on the contrary, models which have satisfactory simulations, are hard to be established because of the hard-to-get required data. Theref… Show more

“…The faulted section can then be isolated, and other parts of the microgrid can be resupplied with power. A low-bandwidth communication system is required to achieve this, which can be realized through coordination with a traditional distribution protection system [26] - [28]. The detected sign of the adjacent CT is sent to the local CT and compared according to (13).…”

“…Electronic transformers are widely used in electrical power systems, especially the electronic current transformer based on Rogowski coil and the electronic voltage transformer based on capacitive voltage divider [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]. Since the output signals of Rogowski coil and capacitive voltage divider are proportional to the rate of change of the primary signals, they are required to recover the measured primary signals, which is usually realized by electronic integrator circuits [10][11][12].…”
