Modeling and Analysis of a Linear Generator for High Speed Maglev Train

Abstract: This paper investigates a linear generator (LIG) for application in high speed maglev train. Its configuration and working principle are introduced in detail. The mathematic models of magnetic field and induced voltage are established by the equivalent magnetic circuit method and the law of electromagnetic induction respectively, through which the characteristics of LIG and impact factors are analyzed preliminarily. An analytical and numerical method is proposed to analyze the characteristics of LIG further, i… Show more

“…This refers to the distribution grids of electric vehicles, magnetic bearing drive systems, drives, generators, and motors. In the last one, the magnetic field induction in airgaps can even reach the Tesla level [25,26]. The leakage flux in transformers (including highfrequency solid-state devices for traction or more electric aircraft applications) may reach up to hundreds of mT [27].…”

“…L INEAR machines have been and continue to be viable candidates in several industrial fields where they exhibit higher performance than their rotating counterparts. They are integrated in wave energy conversion systems [1]- [4], Maglev trains [5]- [7], ropeless elevators [8], [9], electromagnetic suspensions [10], [11], and free piston engines [12]- [15].…”
