Petroleum plays a crucial strategic role in the nation's growth and is closely related to national strategy, international politics, and the global power structure (Tsui 2011). Since the energy problem has become severe in recent years, petroleum has steadily taken on a vital role in restricting the steady growth of the national economy (Hughes and Rudolph 2011, Martínez-Palou et al. 2011, Xiao et al. 2022. Countries and regions that are not rich in oil resources inevitably need to solve the problem of oil procurement and transportation. The long-distance oil pipeline serves as a pipeline system for the movement of crude oil and petroleum products, making it the most important piece of transportation equipment in the oil storage and transportation sector (Tsoskounoglou et al. 2008). After all, pipeline oil transportation provides advantages over railroad and highway oil transportation (Martínez-Palou et al. 2011), including large volume, good tightness, low cost, and high safety factors (Hasan et al. 2010, Martínez-Palou et al. 2011, Ilman and Kusmono 2014. Evaluation of heavy metal pollution in soil mass relies mainly on index methods. Choosing suitable methods to process indexes is key to obtaining accurate and reasonable evaluation results. Connection cloud models have been commonly used to evaluate pollution indexes. However, generating a cloud at each grade for each index is a tedious calculation. To address the randomness and fuzziness of soil heavy metal pollution evaluation indicators, we propose a comprehensive connection cloud model that couples the connection clouds of all indicators at each grade as sub-clouds. We establish the model by combining the weights of each indicator to determine the soil heavy metal pollution grade. The proposed model is effective and feasible for the evaluation of soil heavy metal pollution, as demonstrated through examples and comparisons with other methods. The comprehensive connection cloud model overcomes the traditional cloud models' defect of requiring normal distribution for evaluated indicators and considers the interaction between indicators. Thus, it provides a novel route for uncertainty analysis, considering the fuzzy randomness between multiple interrelated indicators.

Assessment of the effective state concentrations of Zn, Pb, Cu, Ni, Cr, Cd, and As in 210 soil samples across the Guangzhou region in South China. The study also explores the pollution status, potential risks, and identifies the main hazard factors associated with these elements. The analysis of effective concentrations indicates average values of 13.66 mg/kg for Pb, 3.64 mg/kg for Ni, 17.92 mg/kg for Cu, 1.74 mg/kg for Cr, 51.77 mg/kg for Zn, 0.22 mg/kg for Cd, and 0.38 mg/kg for As. Notably, all heavy metals exhibited considerable variability. The single pollution index method and Nemerow index method both suggest that, with the exception of Cd, all heavy metals exhibit relatively low levels of contamination, indicating a slight overall pollution in the studied samples. The potential ecological risk index identifies Cd as the primary ecological risk factor among the available heavy metals in the soil of Guangzhou. The analysis using the potential health risk model suggests that the available forms of each heavy metal do not pose substantial health risks to both children and adults. The principal non-carcinogenic factors identified are Cu and Pb, whereas Cd and Cr emerge as the primary carcinogenic factors. The collaborative risk assessment analysis revealed that 79% of the samples in Guangzhou exhibited low potential risks, 20% showed potential risks, and only one sample indicated serious risks.
